I started working in the field of interpretive design whilst still living in Scotland where tourism plays a major part of the national economy. It is a discipline that brings together my architectural training with my artistic leanings. I enjoy the challenge of communicating information in concise, innovative ways using multiple mediums.
Whilst I have always offered a full design service working from concept to complete working drawings and specifications, I now offer a design/ build service to clients as I have associated with Bryn Finer Studio also of Saltspring Island. ( contact information to come)
We first worked together on The Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site and have recently finished exhibits for a visitor centre in the North Yukon for Parks Canada.
This association offers clear advantages to the client:
- The client has to deal with one client.
- Continuity from concept development to completion is ensured.
- We stand by our prices and timelines.
- We only design what we can build.
Projects completed to date:
- Old crow Visitor Centre, Yukon
- Haida Gwaii Interpretive Centre, Queen Charlotte Islands, B.C.
- Forestry Centre, Tofino, B.C.
- Steveston Cannery, National Historic Site, Vancouver, B.C.
- Lake Cowichan Forest Research Station, Lake Cowichan, B.C.
